Confirmed Dimmed Problem
When I bought these I knew that dimming over time could occur. So I set up a test circuit of two White LEDs with the same current of 20mA from the same bag.One LED was on 100%, the other switched on to check for brightness comparison. The one that was on 100% had less brightness after several months. Drive these at 3-5mA where they are adequately bright for indicator service. Regard the 20mA rating as short-term Maximum Current
Good but not great | ||
I bought these LEDs and was pleasantly surprised by their brightness and uniformity from LED to LED. When I installed them into several night light fixtures providing about 5 to 8 ma LED current I was impressed with their brightness! However, I have noticed that they have already begun to dim CONSIDERABLY in only a few months! Other white LEDs have lasted over a year in these fixtures before dimming this much. Maybe running them at even LESS current is needed.
